VinFast has officially launched its first, and largest, EV assembly plant outside Vietnam in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu on August 4, 2025. Backed by a $500 million initial investment as part of a broader $2 billion expansion, the VinFast EV plant facility will start with an annual capacity of 50,000 vehicles, scalable to 150,000 units, and aims to position India as a regional export hub. Production has already begun.
